Your Local Library

In addition to the physical book collection, a lot of libraries also allow access to digital products with your library card. That means you do not have to even have to step foot into the library to access:

  • audiobooks

  • kindle

  • online learning services (ie. Lynda, Gale)

  • digital magazines/newspapers

  • music, podcasts

  • language learning programs

Libraries like the Los Angeles Public Library offer additional resources at the library, such as renting laptops, 3-D printing, art exhibits, and more.

The best part of it all is that doesn’t cost you a thing! You just have to go to your local library with your ID to sign up for a library card.

Tip: When considering purchasing a book, try the digital copy to see if you want to add it to your collection. Then you can make a better decision about if you are truly interested in it, and which version you want. Do you prefer audiobooks, hard copy books, or e-books?

See Project Life Hack’s Reading Corner for suggested titles.
